This is amazing that this person included some of these things. Sure, I understand about the toilet paper. Yes, I tried that once but that is a little anal to say the least. It takes too much time and frankly, it does not feel that good. I will not comment further on the comfort...

Saving on your bills...

Here is just one of many ways to save on your energy bills.

Refrigerator/Freezer

• Cut down the frequency of door openings.
• Keep coils and condenser area free of dust.
• Keep your refrigerator compartment between 36-38 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer compartment between 0-5 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Defrost manual defrost freezers when frost build-up is more than ¼” thick.
• If possible, locate refrigerators and freezers away from direct sunlight and other warm air sources such as ranges and heating equipment.
• Don't put refrigerators and freezers in a garage.
• Consider purchasing a refrigerator with an ENERGY STAR label -- you'll use at least 20 percent less energy.

Tip of the Day

Here is my first tip on saving money.

Don't spend it. Of course you think that I am being a smarty pants but actually it makes common sense. If you know that you do not have money for a pumpkin latte, then why don't you try something else. I make the best latte at home. I also try the lattes in the grocery store. Let's do the math. I love Vanilla Chai Lattes. Kroger has a comparable one for $3.89, on the other hand Panera has one that cost more than $4.00. The latte in the bottle from Kroger I can sip this one for days-4 to be exact. So I can have 4 lattes for a cheaper price.

Here is the thing -

I look at everything in my life as how I can save money. Today I saved on lunch. How? I took a friend up on an offer - "You drive, I pay". I use to never take people up on such an offer but if I can save $5.00 on lunch and spend what would be about $1.50 for gas, so be it. Thanks again for lunch.

When you think of the word Thrifty what comes to mind?

According to Webster the word thrifty means: : thriving by industry and frugality.

My definition of thrifty is wanting something but the refusal to pay full price. I mean I can not think of one thing that I have bought that I said, "Gee, I should have clipped the coupon for that...," or "I should have bought that when it was on sale." That will never happen to me because it never occurs to me that I should have NOT ran directly to the clearance section! I will knock you down just to get to the back of the store where that orange or red sign saying CLEARANCE is hanging waiting for its prey.

I on the other hand, can not only mention what I have done to save, but I can help you save too! I may not have a PH.D in Economics nor Finance, but I do know that I am plagued by the mere thought that I might have lost $20 a month on what I consider a "not needed to survive" item.
